Personal Development Curriculum (PDC)

Our Aims

Our Personal Development Curriculum runs across everything we do in school, educating our students to be well rounded young people, entering the next stage of their life fully equipped.

During Personal Development time each day, students will cover a diverse range of subject areas with lessons planned by specialists and delivered by their Personal Development Tutors, who know them the best.

Each year, our students take part in 5 Character & Culture (C&C) Days where they spend a concentrated amount of time on more specific areas of the curriculum, during which, we invite several visiting speakers/experts to join us.

At the end of the year our students are given the opportunity to partake in a variety of additional enrichment opportunities and experiences during ‘Wonderful Week’. Opportunities include residential visits, day trips and in school experiences that students can select from earlier in the year to create their bespoke timetable.

Personal Development content also runs across all curriculum areas in school, with staff making reference, throughout their teaching, linking the content of PDC lessons to their individual subject/areas of school.
