CEIAG – Careers and Enterprise Information, Advice and Guidance
Our Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) curriculum is designed to ensure that all students develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and aspirations needed to make informed decisions about their future pathways. Through a progressive programme delivered weekly as part of Personal Development, students gain an understanding of the world of work, explore a broad range of career opportunities, and develop the employability skills required for success in further education, training, and employment.
The curriculum is enriched through meaningful encounters with employers, education providers, and industry professionals, enabling students to make connections between their learning and future career opportunities. Experiences such as Job Hopping Day, Character and Culture Days, the annual Careers Fair, and participation in local careers and skills events provide students with first-hand insight into a wide range of sectors, pathways, and professions. These opportunities help to challenge stereotypes, broaden horizons, and raise aspirations.
In addition to the Personal Development provision, each curriculum area has a designated Careers Week during which students are educated through different career linked experiences and opportunities.
Our CEIAG curriculum is carefully sequenced to support students at key transition points and to ensure that they are well prepared for the decisions they will make throughout their education. By the time students leave our school, they will have developed the knowledge, employability skills, resilience, and self-awareness needed to confidently navigate their next steps and thrive in an ever-changing world.
